How to avoid spam calls on your Android phones
Smartphone's basic role was to provide users to do outgoing and get incoming phone call. Today, with the progress of innovation, the usage of cell phones has arisen and now there are a many unique approaches to connect with people.
Everyone must have faced the issue of spam calls on their devices , Security researcher Alex Zaleski reviewed several apps that block spam calls, but he had mixed feelings about most of them. In general, he said, they block only some of the callers, not all of them as mentioned in call diary.
He said, some apps seem to block more legitimate calls, while others are completely useless. It’s also important to remember that not all spam calls are necessarily bad.
So, fundamentally, some of these apps are very difficult to get through, and the ones that get through can block legit calls as well.
From the Federal Trade Commission's site: "when in doubt, at any event that somebody calls to offer you a free insurance on vehicle protection, that is most likely not a scam but rather also we can't say its scam easily . These calls are often telemarketing, where someone sells products and services.”
Not every spam call is a scam. Sometimes they are actually the responsible person’s phone number. If this extension were to stop all unknown phone numbers as they come in, it might actually mess up the consumer. We know how ridiculous it sounds for someone to block their best friend’s number.
Of course, that is more complicated than saying whether or not a call is a scam, and, as we’ve noted, there may be some calls that are not legitimate.
Which is why there is no call blocker in the world that would let you block your best friend’s number.
Random Call Blocker
This extension is specifically designed for getting rid of those who make random calls. This is also known as telemarketers. There are lots of things you can block with the extension. Any kind of random numbers in the list of blocked numbers is automatically blocked.
What if you are actually answering a telemarketer’s call. As long as you don’t open the app, then the extension will still block it from going through.
But thankfully, there are now many ways to deal with them.
Here are some tips to avoid spam calls:
— Avoid answering calls from unknown numbers.
— If you do answer, do not engage with the caller.
— Don't tap on unknown links or open unknown connections.
— If you are asked to enter your information or have an inquiry that seems suspicious, hang up.
— Use a good call-blocking app to allow calls from the intended number.
— Use a call management service.
— Don't answer a call you think is a scam.
— If you are unsure about a call, hang up and call the number you know to be genuine to verify the caller is there.
— Make sure that your carrier uses a data blocking system to block certain numbers.
That will keep you from wasting your time and money
You can also take steps to prevent certain numbers from getting through .you can use a blocking app Truecaller , it is a legitimate app which is easily available on Google Play store and Apple store.
In this blog, we will show you how you can set up your Android phone to receive only “verified calls.”
This new feature is already available in the “Phone by Google” application which works with organizations to verify caller’s identity, it shows the reason for calling, and even display the logo, making it easier for the brand to recognize the company.

In addition, there are apps for iPhone and Android that monitor spam calls. They track calls and send you a notification if a call matches up with any previously reported numbers. This is known as call-blocking by alert.
You probably think these kinds of apps are irrelevant because, of course, you have an iPhone or an Android. then you are wrong - Both devices allow you to block incoming calls from any given phone number in the world, but when it comes to spam calls, the iPhone comes out as king, because in order for you to get rid of the spam calls, the device needs to have your voicemail credentials. The spam calls are probably coming from another phone which has your phone number and with that phone number, you have your phone number.
If you only have an iPhone, you have a good chance of having your voicemail permissions removed from a particular spam call. What you’re going to have to do is place a call to your carrier using a number you want to send a text message to your carrier. When the spam call comes, you get a phone call asking you to verify the number that sent the spam call. If you don’t have a phone number associated with your number, you’ll be asked to give your email address, then you’ll get a phone call instructing you that you have to block the number and a full text message alerting you to the fact that you blocked the number.
The iPhone’s spam filter actually works, and is actually a valuable tool if you’re looking to avoid unwanted calls. You can use the block numbers feature to block unwanted calls to an individual person.
If you do have an iPhone, you can actually set the device to automatically scan your phone for spam call numbers. Once the phone has been scanned, you’ll get a warning that you have received a spam call. You can then block the number, or, if you’re not in a hurry, you can select to delete the notification, just in case you decide to change your mind.
Only you can decide if blocking unwanted calls is something you want to try, though. If you do decide to set up spam calls to automatically scan your phone, make sure to check your settings for spam numbers.
That’s all . From now , you will receive more information on your screen when you get a verified call. The feature comes in handy to help you distinguish between spam calls and real ones.
